Host a Food Drive
Support QCAP families any time of year by organizing a food drive. Your efforts help us meet the ongoing demand for essential pantry staples like cooking oils, spices, and coffee—items that supplement what we receive from the Greater Boston Food Bank.
See our high-need items list here
Host a Diapers, Toiletries & Period Supplies Drive
Help local families meet everyday essential needs by hosting a drive for diapers, toiletries, and period supplies. These items are always in high demand and often not covered by assistance programs. Collecting and donating them is a simple yet powerful way to support dignity and well-being for our neighbors year-round.
Interested in hosting a drive?
Please email us at food@qcap.org if you are interested in learning more.
Food Pantry Volunteers
(Year-Round)
Support QCAP families directly by volunteering in our food pantry inside of QCAP’s South West Community Center. Opportunities include assembling food bags for clients, tidying the warehouse, and organizing shelves. Volunteers are essential to keeping the pantry running smoothly, and help is welcome year-round.
Please email us at food@qcap.org if you are interested in learning more.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance VITA
(Jan-April)
Support local low-income households by helping them file their tax returns accurately and on time. Volunteers become IRS-certified tax preparers through provided training (no prior experience required). The program runs January–April at QCAP’s main office (1509 Hancock St, Quincy), with flexible evening and Saturday shifts available.
For more information about how to volunteer email taxes@qcap.org

Holiday Food Drive
(Oct-Dec)
Help ensure every local family can enjoy a warm holiday meal by collecting high-need holiday items such as stuffing, gravy, pie mixes, cookie and cake mixes, cooking oils, spices, and other non-perishable treats. Donations can be delivered to QCAP’s South West Community Center (flyer attached).
Holiday Toy Drive
(Oct-Dec)
Help make the holidays brighter for local children ages 12 & under whose families visit our food center by hosting a toy drive. Groups can shop from our [Amazon] wish list and ship gifts directly to QCAP, or collect toys as a team and deliver them for a fun, festive activity. We’ve also attached a list of gift ideas by age for anyone who prefers to shop locally or at other stores.
“Santa’s Workshop” Volunteers
(Nov-Dec)
Gather a group of 2-8 and join us at QCAP’s South West Community Center to help spread holiday cheer. Volunteers will sort toys and assemble gift bags for children in need, making sure every child receives a special holiday surprise.
Please email us at food@qcap.org to schedule drop offs or volunteer hours.
Thank you for your support – we could not do what we do without the support of a caring community.
